Aren’t all worms the same? What are composting worms?Updated a month ago

While all composting worms are earthworms, not all earthworms are good for composting. The difference comes down to where they live, how they behave, and what they eat.

Composting worms live near the surface and don’t burrow deep. They eat decaying orgranic matter. They are fast breeders and thrive in warm, most, dark places.

Earthworms on the other hand, live In deep soil and burrow long tunnels (like several feet underground tunnels). They eat soil & decaying plant matter. They have slower reproduction time and prefer cooler environments.
